Alright Dudes..

Morning.. i've been playing around with a few games for todays videos.. there's no lack of choice, nor need to rush one game over another, but I think i'd prefer something that I can use hypercam with.

Granted, I can use hypercam with anything I can force into window mode, but I get the very strong suspicion that Fraps is the better tool for the job if normal 3D is involved (PSX emu doesn't count).. I just did a test run with hypercam on a 3D game, and it dropped about 10% of the frames.

Now, to cut it some slack, the game I tested was probably the most intensive game to record I can think of, in full detail :p But i'll stick with fraps when it comes to 3D stuff anyway.

Emu/Windowed stuff = Hypercam
Full screen 3D directx/opengl type affairs = Fraps

Problem with Fraps though, is it refuses to record FMV on some games.. I guess that could always be remedied by recording the FMV separately (with Hypercam) and dumping it ontop of the Fraps footage when it's blacking out the FMV sequence(s).

Oh well, i've still got about another 90 minutes before I start, and i'm gonna grab a breakfast pizza while continuing to mull over the options.

As I said to begin with, there's no rush, nor big deal to pick one game over another.. i'll just go with what records best, and what I think's gonna be fun for 60-90 minutes of play.
